SIL CERTIFICATION RENEWAL

All N.E.T. Infrared sensors have reached a safety integrity level of SIL2, as certified by a specific Functional Safety Assessment released by TUV Nord. No other gas sensor on the market is provided with a higher, certified SIL capability, making our IR series the ideal choice for whoever is designing gas detection systems and SIL-rated functions aiming at the highest levels of functional safety.

The Functional Safety assessment is valid for 5 years from the release date and at the end of last year, NET had to proceed to its renewal. Copy of the new assessment is available for download in each of our NDIR product page (in the Download Center at the bottom of each page):

The big news is therefore the inclusion of the IREF LITE series in the SIL2-certified family. Released in 2019, and therefore not included in the previous version of the Functional Safety assessment, IREF LITE was initially designed to meet SIL1 requirements. However, several improvements throughout the last few years allowed the “LITE” to make the SIL2 cut.

Don’t forget that SIL2-certified versions of our sensors are identified with a specific part number ending in ”-S”. for more information, please see our P/N specifications.

Another relevant news is the inclusion of our XIN/DIN certified heads in the Functional Safety assessment. XIN/DIN are a version of our NET certified heads with electronic transmitters dedicated to our NDIR sensors, providing 4-20mA and RS-485 Modbus RTU outputs.

At NET, you can therefore source complete sensor heads with standard analogue and digital interfaces certified to ATEX, IECEx and SIL2.
